BRIEF HISTORY OF JAMIA
Al Jamiathul Hasaniyya was founded in the 1940s by the distinguished philanthropist, Late Haji Hassan Yacoob Sait (رحمه الله), who made a sincere prayer at the Holy Ka'bah in Makkah to establish a dedicated center for Islamic learning and virtuous community guidance.
The institution commenced its noble instructional journey under the eminent guidance of renowned freedom fighter and scholar, Late Kidangayam Ibrahim Moulavi (رحمه الله), who served with great distinction as its founding Principal.
Following the demise of the founder, the mantle was shoulder-carried by his dedicated son, Late Haji Abdul Sathar Sait, who oversaw substantial physical expansion and modernized institutional facilities, elevating Hasaniyya into an esteemed seat of Islamic higher education in Kerala.
Today, Al Jamiathul Hasaniyya continues to flourish, honoring its founders' legacy by preparing generations of Islamic scholars and faithful professionals.
FOUNDER OF JAMIA
Late Haji Hassan Yacoob Sait (رحمه الله) was a visionary entrepreneur, renowned philanthropist, and the benevolent founder of Al Jamiathul Hasaniyya. He dedicated immense resources and personal fortune to the propagation of orthodox Islamic education in Kerala.
While performing Hajj in 1938–1939, he made a solemn vow before the Ka'bah to establish a religious school. Following the birth of his daughter in 1940, he fulfilled his prayer by founding a school and mosque, which blossomed into the Hasaniyya educational campus.
His visionary foresight and unwavering dedication laid the bedrock upon which the university stands today as a lighthouse of authentic sacred knowledge and community upliftment.
